Security Cameras
Security cameras are almost a common necessity these days. It's solid proof to show when something is done. If you have any vandalizim, or need proof that someone has been around your home or vehicle, a camera recording all the action is a sure thing.
Cameras today are pretty inexpensive compared to what they were years ago. But also, "you get what you pay for" still holds true when you get a security camera. Lets take a look at differences.

This is your average bullet camera. Good color, great for indoor use and good for outdoor use too, if you are looking at something close by. Usually they have 380 - 420 lines of resolution. (The more lines the better) They are also weather proof. They are color by day and black & white IR by night.
Believe it or not, I have a lot of stores that have as many as 16 of these cameras in plain sight and people shoplift right in front of them, they are very discreet. Even having these under the soffut of your house is very concealing.
A balck camera is not that good for outside use, if exposed to the sun in the summer, they tend to absorbe the heat and burn up, where as the white or silver cameras reflect the heat. So black cameras are best for inside and consealed. |
Dome cameras are great for inside viewing. You can use them outside as well, they just need to be weather proof dome cameras. The nice thing is that since the dome is dark, no one really can tell which way the camera is pointing. As in most cases, these cameras can go from cheap to expensive. The picture quality will match the price. There are also dome cameras that have infrared LED's in them so they see at night as well, but they are not as discreet as the ones without it. |

These type of box cameras are much better if you need detail and adjustable lens. These cost a bit more, since you are paying more for the camera, the lens, and need a mount and housing, since they are not weather proof. You can change the fixed focus lens or use an adjustable lens for times when you need to view different distances and want to zoom in. |
